It is in front of Morocco / Africa, from where also comes the always warm air. In the North the high Sierra Nevada (the most popular skiing area of Spain from October until May) keeps the cold north wind away from the Axarquía. This region has the best climate of Europe. Not only the fans of sun, but also especially the people with breathing problems and articular rheumatism know to appreciate this climate. Inspite of temporary relatively quite high temperatures in summer the climate of the Axarquía always is pleasant. The humidity is low and it blows always a slight breeze.
